Jade was rambling along through the corridors of the train. She signed as she looked around; this time last year, she was hanging out with Li Na, Tao Chen, Draco, and Halen, but that was in the past. She hadn't talked to Li Na since she figured out that Li had slept with Halen, and hadn't talked to Halen since their big fight. She hadn't heard anything from Draco since he had killed Dumbledore, and Tao Chen still hadn't decided what he was going to do.
She pressed her back against the wall, and growled as images hit her. There she was with Li Na, arm in arm, facing off against Draco, Halen, and Tao Chen for some prank they had pulled earlier. "It doesn't matter now, Aimes, you're all you've got. Forget that two-timing bastard. Forget you're supposed 'best-friend'. Hell, forget everyone. It doesn't matter anymore. You've got eight months and then you're gone. You never have to see them again."

Pam didn't feel like walking out with Li Na. She didn't want to attract attention - after all, it was strange for her to be seen walking out of her lonesome cabin with another person. It could be one of the first, though minor, rumors going around the Slytherin common room, and it was the last thing she wanted. She waved good-bye at Li Na and wished her luck and said she'd talk to her soon, and stepped out of her cabin a minute later with her trunk magically in tow. As she rounded the corner, she nearly bumped into a fellow Slytherin who was leaning against the corridor wall. "Sorry." she mumbled quickly. She had lost her concentration and her trunk had dropped and popped open. She shut it hurriedly.

Jade raised an eyebrow at the figure that had bumped into her. Ah, it was her house-mate, Pam. "Hello, Pam. It's no problem. Summer good?" She recalled hearing two voices biding goodbye to each other from the cabin. "Say, who'd you ride with? I spent the whole time rambling through the hallways."
((Gah! I know it's short! Give me a minute to think up how Jade wants to act, and I'll do better! | _ | ))

Pam laughed a bit. It just sounded funny, 'rambling through the hallways' the whole time. She sat on her trunk to get it to click, got up and said, "No, summer was shit, like always. Oh, I was riding with Shing."

Jade nodded her head, and shrugged her shoulders. "When are they not? I don't remember a good summer since, like, fourth year. And we all know that Aurelia was alive then."
Jade's friendly smile quickly turned into a deep, dark scowl. "Shing, you say? Let me warn you; if you've got any male companions you would like to keep, don't let the little bitch get near them. She'll end up screwing them."

Pam was absolutely shocked by Jade's words. Then she remembered that Li Na had probably been screwing around, the evidence was pretty obvious. "Don't worry, I only had one "male companion" and he's gone now. I don't intend to have another one." She was furious and she didn't know why. "Besides, Shing obviously has a "male companion" already. From the looks of it, I doubt she'll be looking for someone to screw with for a while." She mentally slapped herself. Damnit, it's supposed to be a secret! Don't let it out!

Jade raised an eyebrow as she rolled her shoulders to release the tension. "She's not content with just one. She wants as many as she can get her hands on." Especially if they're already taken, she added silently.
"So, did she tell you who she'd been fooling around with? She seems to have gained some weight over the summer..."

Pam blinked. Gained weight over the summer? So maybe Jade knew... "She didn't tell me who." Then she added cautiously, "But I'm pretty sure it's only one." Pam was horrible at being secretive. She could keep a secret, yes. But she was awful at finding out if someone else knew the secret. She'd never really had that slyness to her.

With a thin smile, Jade decided to humor Pam. "Okay, if you say so. Are you positive she didn't say anything else to you, though? I mean...any hints to a name or anything?" Jade knew she was starting to push Pam, so she decided to back off if she didn't get her answers this time. But...Pam seemed a little reluctant to budge. It was like she was hiding something. So...there was something to hide...

"No," Pam said firmly, "she didn't give a name or a description, nothing." All she knew was that whoever Li Na had screwed with, she felt really bad about it. And who wouldn't, with such a secret to hide? A bell rang out, indicating that they had only a few minutes left to vacate the train. "Well, um... see you around." she said. She levitated her trunk and walked out with it in tow, thinking whether she had given anything away. No... I don't think I have...

Jade "hmmmm"ed diligently, still finding it hard to believe that Pam was telling the truth. "I see..." She leaned back against the wall, shrugging as the warning sounded. "I guess we gotta get off or go back home...Not that that's a bad idea..."
((HINT HINT NUDGE NUDGE))
"Yea, see you around," Jade called to Pam's back, walking out to the carriages and climbing on top of one full of second years. Hoping to scare them, and at least get a little fun for herself, she started beating on top of it.
