Jonas had only one thought on his mind as he stepped into the town of Hogsmeade: Get a job. Simply put, he had been fired when a big company took over the small company he had been working for. So he was out of a job and on the budget, a terribly wonderful situation for a young man of 27, eh? He walked straight into the Three Broomsticks and sat down at a table in the back, reading the newspaper and searching for any ads about employers seeking employees. He and 7 others had been fired, so he knew he wasn't the only one. It didn't make it any better. He ordered a glass of water - the only free thing on the menu - and scanned the ads again to make sure he hadn't missed anything.

Sashi Saila, star of the wizarding world, auror, and accomplished author, walked in to the Three Broomsticks. A friend had told her that they'd send a package for her there, and she was going to pick it up. She wasn't the type to get someone to do it for her. Sashi didn't drink, so she wasn't about to order something. Sashi looked around the bar, noting that she was being stared at by almost everyone. It came with being a celebrity. Sashi simply smiled and went to the front of the bar to get her package...

Jonas looked up as Sashi Saila entered the restaurant. There was his perfect chance to get a job! He'd have to be careful, though. If he said the wrong thing, he might lose all chances of working for Saila. He got up and walked slowly to the front of the bar, forgetting about the newspaper and the cup of water. He began with a simple, "Hello. You are the author Saila, I presume?"

Sashi turned around, a package under her arm. There was a man behind her who looked to be slightly older then him. Sashi wore a white shirt and a pair of jeans. She had very tan skin, dark brownish black hair, and blue eyes. She was of indian decent, and looked a lot like her mother. Sashi smiled, thinking he was just another reader. "Yes I am, and who might you be?"she looked up at him. www.anupriyo.com/blog/archive/images/ashtaj2.jpg

"My name is Jonas Quinn, I worked for Hogsmeade Living." He took a small business card out of his pocket and handed it to her. He had developed a good speaking tone that sounded both professional and casual (which had turned out to be very effective in the past) and used it now. "There was recently a legal battle between them and the owners of a larger magazine corporation, I am sure you have heard. A lot of us who worked for Hogsmeade Living are unfortunately no longer employed and... I am searching for a job." Jonas went straight to the point, like he always did. "I saw you walk in and I thought I'd ask if you had an opening." He had his resume and all the paperwork any possible employer might ask for. It was all in his briefcase. He felt no reason to beat around the bushes. Sashi Saila was a very busy person, he knew, and he didn't want to waste her time.

Sashi studied his card for a moment. "For a writer?"she said, searching her brain for a moment. "I'm not sure that I need someone currently,"she said. "Though I do know a lot of people at the Daily Prophet and Witches Weekly who I could point you to."she said. "If you need me as a reference then I'm totally up for that."she said with a smile. Sashi was a writer herself, having written a wide selection of books about herself, other aurors, and magical and muggle history. She knew a ton of editors and journalists who had interviewed her.

"More of a journalist, yes." He nodded. "I would appreciate that very much, ma'am." A job at either one of those editorials would be the chance of a lifetime for Jonas. Screw Hogsmeade Living, he thought, joking with himself.

Sashi nodded. "I see, well, here's my card."she said, handing him her card. "So that has all my contact information in case you'd like to get in touch, and I'll be sure to put your name out."she told him with a sparkle in her eye. Sashi was always that type to help out.

He took the card, took a fraction of a second to examine it (he had seen so many that it came naturally to him to just glance at a card and know where everything is) and said, "Thank you, ma'am." He pocketed the card, tipped his hat in a quick thank-you gesture, and said, "I'll look forward to speaking with you again." It had been easier than he ever imagined. Jonas felt as if he had a chance, but he didn't let his excitement take over him. It was, after all, only a chance and nothing more.

"Please, I prefer Sashi."Sashi told him with a smile. Afterall, Sashi was only twenty-two, and she didn't want to be treated like she was so old. "The pleasure will be all mine, I'm sure."she said.

Jonas smiled. "Alright. Thank-you, Sashi." He tipped his hat slightly again and went to look for his newspaper.
((ok so... what do we do now?))
