Li Na left Jade's house, still hearing her best friends belly laughter. She had a smile was on her face, as she walked towards Hogsmeade, she had decided to go and look around for the lack of things to do, may be pick up a few things for school. She was now living with her and she was happy to be away from her parents. At first they were pissed when she left but then, they got used to her being gone. She no longer had bruises on her and she was happy about that, not being their simple play toy.
She smiled at the younger kids who were running around. She was happy to be returning to Hogwarts but the recent events made wonder what it would be like now the Dumbledore was gone. She was scared to not have him there, he was the one thing that scared Voldermort and she took comfort in knowing that. Dumbledore had always made her feel safe with his kind face and kind words.
Her smile slowly fell as she saw someone who did not comfort her or make her feel safe. She was no longer scared of Halen, she wouldn't let him have that power over her anymore. Halen quickly noticed her and walked up to her, giving her a huge hug. Li Na smiled as she sensed something different about him, may be a slight change. She hugged him back and said "How are you?" He responeded with the simple "Great." answer.
"Hey do you want to go have a drink at The Three Broomsticks?" he asked. Her smile was reluctant but she decided to say yes, and she later found herself having a drink and catching up on old times that made her smile. Despite Halen being abusive, they did have a few good memories that always brought a smile to her face, and melted her heart because it did give her hope that there was a good guy in there, somewhere. She found herself, scooting closer to him in the booth, watching his smiling face as he re-told a story. He soon took notice to it too and smiled at her. She knew that he was off limits but yet she was gravitated to him, as if he were pulling her in. A voice said "Don't do it, he is off limits." and then the other said "It isn't a big deal, you dated him first."
She knew it was all wrong when she agreed to go into his room, to get a supposed "tour." He had played this game with her so many times that she knew what he meant but yet she stepped in. And when she left she had a guilty wave rush over her but yet she had gotten what she had went in there for, and she knew it was wrong. May be they were both lonely or may be they were bored? She wasn't sure and she knew that she had to tell Jade.
She slowly walked into the house, her hair a little messy. She hoped Jade would be asleep and she had partly gotten herself to believe that she would be but it was only midnight and Jade was usually awake at this time. Her heart sunk when she saw Jade at the kitchen table. "Hey." she said softly.

Jade's hand darted for her wand as she heard someone come in the kitchen. Once she was reassured it was Li Na she relaxed, staring down into the murky amber depths of her hot tea. "Hey yourself. What are you doing back so late?" She waved her wand at the tea set, pouring Li Na a cup.
She frowned as she took in Li's disheveled appearance, but put it off due to the fact she had been gone for over eight hours. Hadn't she said something about going shopping? Yes, she had. That's was the reason. "Have a good time shopping? Did you get everything you needed?"
She didn't know if she should tell Li Na or not. Not long after the black haired girl had left, Jade gad gotten an owl. She decided to tell her just in case he came around. She deserved to know after everything he had put her through. "Li..." she stopped, still not sure if she should tell her or not..."Li, Halen got out today. He's coming back."
Hesitantly raising the eyes for which she was named, Jade looked at Li Na, smiling uneasily-easily. Li Na wasn't at ease, she could feel that. What was making her so nervous?

She smiled at Jade, it was an uneasy smile though. She reached for the cup of tea, taking a long sip and kind of hiding behind it. She looked down and realized she hadn't gotten anything she went for. "Umm no, I didn't really have time to get anything." she said which she knew Jade would pick up on. Gone for eight hours and you didn't purchse anything? She knew that sounded strange.
She semi-frowned as she heard Halen's name. "Yeah I saw him today." she said a little uneasy. She didn't know how to tell what had happen and she dreaded saying it. She couldn't bring herself to do it at the moment and she felt like such a coward for not being able to do it.

Jade narrowed her eyes at Li Na, not understanding her. "You didn't have time to buy anything? What did you do? You weren't out there bawling again, were you? I told you, if he won't keep in touch with you, he's not worth it." She sighed, and eased back in her seat, resting her feet in the chair across from her. "What happened? I promise I won't jump to conclusions. I'm calm now, just tell me where you were for eight hours."
Darkly frowning, she commented on Li Na's words, "You saw him? He didn't do anything to you, did he? By Merlin, if he did, I can promise you that he won't need to worry about going back to Azkaban. I'll tear him limb from limb and send the meat to some poverty stricken country. Or, I may feed him to the animals." She scowled, glaring down at the scars on her wrists.

"No I wasn't bawling." she said smiling. And quickly taking it off her face. She shouldn't have been happy about what she had done and she instantly felt guilty. "Oh well I talked to Halen... for eight hours." she said it even sounded weird to her too and she knew that she had to come out with it now.
"No, he didn't do anything to me. So don't go out hunting to kill him." she said softly. She looked at her hands, suddenly interested in them. "I slept with him Jade." she said softly. She wasn't sure even if she had heard her but she said it and now she waited for the wrath.

"That's good to know, " Jade said, smiling brightly at Li Na. She got a confused look on her face. "You talked...to Halen...for ei...eight hours? What the hell? Li, are you crazy?" She plunked her cup down on the table and crossed her arms, observing her friend.
"That's good, I won't....." her face became blank as she stared at the teen, "You SLEPT with him? As in, You f**kED him? Li? What the hell?" Jade jumped up, fists clenched to keep from throttling the girl. She stalked to wards the counter with the window above it and placed her fists down on the counter-top. "You screwed him, Li? You really did, didn't you?" she whispered, staring into the distance, with her back to her friend. Jade knew her emotions would show on her face, so she kept it turned away.

"Look I am sorry." she said truly seeing how angry her friend was. "It just kind of happened. I don't know." she said putting her hands up to her face. She knew she was wrong she would admit it. "I am sorry." she said again. Really what else could she say? She wasn't totally sorry that it happened but she was sorry that she hurt her friend, she didn't want to do that but her selfshness got in the way of everything.
She stood up and walked over to the girl, starring out the window. "I am sorry." she said again, tears watering her eyes. "I didn't mean to hurt you." she said and she really meant it. She didn't want to hurt Jade because she had been with her through everything and she knew that lately she had been screwing up. "I wish I could say that it was part of a plan, like last time but it wasn't." she said. "I have been screwing up a lot lately and I am not sure what to say to make it better." she said tears falling down.

"You're sorry, Li Na? YOU'RE sorry ?" Jade give a dark chuckle, shrugging her shoulders to get rid of the stiffness. She kept her mouth clenched firmly together, so she wouldn't say anything else. Three strikes and you're out, this was strike two. Idly, Jade wondered what, and if, the third strike would be.
She tensed up even further when Li Na walked over to her, forcing herself to keep control. "Part of the plan? I didn't know about any plan last time, until it had already happened. But, I'm glad to know that you wouldn't feel so guilty if it were 'part of the plan.' I don't know what you can say. I don't know if you honestly meant to hurt me or not, all I know is what I've seen. Against my better judgment, I trusted him. I should have know better. No guy is dependable. There isn't anything you can say to make it better, Li Na. Just give me time alone."
She walked over to the door, and paused as she opened it. "No, you aren't sorry. I'll tell you who is. I am. To honestly think he cared for me. I never told you this, Li Na, because I knew you'd be upset. He asked me to wait for him. I honestly thought he wanted me. I guess it was just a way to get closer to you. And it worked, really well. So, I'm the sorry one. Not you." She walked out the door and directly up the steps in front of it, stopping at the top to look at the pictures of their group.
She scowled and threw three of them down on the floor, smashing the glass. Not feeling any better, she stalked into her room and screamed into a pillow until her voice went raw.

She knew that time was what Jade needed. So she had to let her be as much as she wanted to apologize for everything, she knew it would fall on deaf ears. She wanted to make things right and yet she was so confused. Halen had asked Jade to wait for him but yet he went off and did this? She knew that she was just as guilty but it wasn't like she had forced him.
She knew that only time would tell how Jade would feel and sadly she couldn't comfort her friend through this time. She was the one who had caused the pain and she couldn't take it back. She wasn't even sure if she wanted to take it back, she had had a great time with Halen. He hadn't abused her or talked down to her and she hadn't had that happen between them in a long time. She was sorry that she had hurt Jade but she had had a great time with Halen.
She went to bed that night, confused. She didn't know what to do or even what she was thinking. Why had Halen asked Jade to wait for him and then he turned around and did this? Would Jade ever want to talk to her again? She didn't know and she hoped that she would because it would be lonely without her. She finally awoke after a night of tossing and turning. She walked down to the kitchen.

Jade refused to cry over them. She wouldn't; couldn't. They weren't worth her tears if they did things like this. Was she that worthless that her best friend and boyfriend would go behind her back? Well, whatever the answer was, Jade didn't feel like going through it again.
Sleep had eluded her, but that was just as well. She forcefully opened the door to the kitchen and slammed it behind her, dressed in black slouch pants and a black spaghetti strap top. Seeing Li Na in the kitchen, she spun on her heel and walked back out of the room. She was a mess; her long red hair was up in a messy bun with pieces falling out here and there, her eyes had the beginnings of dark circles around them.
Would she forgive them? Why bother? More than likely, she would forgive them. But she wouldn't trust them, ever. She knew that if she saw Halen and Li Na in the same room now, it would end in a shouting match.Summoning some toast and honey, along with coffee, Jade sat down on the couch in the living room, staring blankly at the TV as she ate.

Li Na followed Jade into the living room. "Look I know you are mad at me but are you going to give me the silent treatment forever?" she asked, she hated Jade being mad at her and she wished she could take it back now. She had made a stupid mistake that she couldn't take back. Halen brought a lot of disaters where ever he went and Li Na knew that she was stupid for even talking to him.
"I am sorry, I don't know how many times I can stress that. I made a mistake. I am human you know and I didn't know that you were dating him." she said. "Not that it is an excuse but I am just really sorry." she said.

Jade cocked an eyebrow at Li Na, just watching her. She knew that Li Na didn't know Jade had been dating Halen, but still. Li Na had had Halen sent to Azkaban, then the day he gets out, she goes and sleeps with him? Something didn't add up. If Li was doing it to get even with Draco, it wouldn't work. he wasn't anywhere around.
"Let me ask you something, Shing. Would it have made a difference if you knew I was dating him? Would that have stopped you from f**king him?" Without pausing to let her answer, Jade continued, "No, it wouldn't have. So don't act like it would have never happened if I was dating him."
She hadn't once took her eyes off of the girl, and she finally did as she looked down at her coffee. Would she forgive her? Sure. Trust her? Never. She turned frigid eyes back on Li Na. "I'll forgive you, but you know I'll never trust you, right?"

"Yeah I know that." she said. She didn't know if it would have been different if she knew Halen and Jade were dating. And Jade was right probably not. She prpbably still would have went after him and it wasn't like he had pushed her away either. She just didn't understand why Jade was so mad at her, it was part Halen's fault too, after all it did take two.
She was starting to get a little angry with Jade, and she didn't know why. Her getting so mad at her just made her want to go out and do it again and she knew that was the wrong reaction. She knew that she deserved it all but it didn't change the way she felt.

"Great, now that we've got that settled," Jade walked into the bathroom across the hall, coming out with her make-up on and teeth brushed. "Since you didn't get your shopping done when you went alone, I'll take you today," her voice was free of the frost it had carried beforehand, but Jade noticed a distinctive change in the way she addressed her best friend. "Unless, of course, you don't want to go. Then I'll be perfectly comfortable going on my own."
((Hey...we can just bring Halen in on this thread, ne? While Li's away he and Jade can 'chat.'))

"I think it would be better if I went alone." she said a little cruely. She didn't know why she had a sudden attitude, she had felt attacked, the more she thought on it. She didn't know that Jade was dating Halen and even then she had dated him a lot longer than she had. She wasn't sorry anymore and she didn't feel bad about it.
She walked back upstaris, her crappy attitude showing right through. She no longer cared what she did or who she was with. She had felt a strange sense of rebellion towards everything.
